Directed by Women to host Iran’s ‘Wooden Sword’

Iranian ‘Wooden Sword’ is to go on screen at the Directed by Women film festival in Turkey.

The Directed by Women film festival in Turkey has scheduled to play host to Iranian short flick ‘Wooden Sword’.

Co-directed by Sousan Salamat and Behzad Alavi, the short film will go on screen at the 3rd edition of the Turkish event which is set to be held in Istanbul.

‘Wooden Sword’ narrates the story of two little boys who meet and make friends over the meadow, while their fathers are struggling over a big issue on the other side of the same place.

Ahoura Salmani, Armin Farajzadeh-Motlaq, Sara Davari, Hamed Souri and Mehdi Niazi are among the cast members of the flick.

The short flick has been showcased in some global events and grabbed awards such as a cash prize at the Stockholm International Monthly Award in the Netherlands.

The Directed by Women film festival is the arena for women filmmakers to share their stories.

These women come from a plethora of cultures, languages and different perspectives.

This year’s edition of the Turkish festival is slated for September 10-13.
